To expedite your check-in process, we need to receive your registration form prior to your procedure date. If not received, the Pre-Registration Department will contact you prior to your date of service. You may fax your registration form to 508-791-4151, attention Pre-Registration Department. The Pre-Registration Department’s direct line is 508-453-8802.
A Health History Nurse will call you prior to your surgery to collect information about your health to expedite your admission process.
A scheduler will call you the day before your surgery, review special instructions, and answer any questions you have. If you have not received a call by 4 p.m. the day before your surgery or have additional questions please call us at 508-453-8802.
It is important for you to follow these guidelines before surgery to prevent delays or cancellations.
Food and Drink
Dietary Restrictions:
You may have Clear Liquids (Water, Apple Juice, Cranberry Juice, Ginger Ale, Black Tea/Coffee) and dry toast or saltine crackers the morning of your procedure. No additions or substitutions.
No Dairy (milk/butter ect.)
No Citrus Products (orange/grapefruit juice ect.)
If anything, other than the listed above is taken there is a risk of surgery being canceled.
Medication Directions:
Take normal medications, especially blood pressure medications as directed unless otherwise specified.
Insulin Dependent Diabetics – bring insulin to appointment; bring needle/syringe.
Please use one set of pre-op eye drops before coming to your procedure.
Alcohol
Do not drink alcohol for at least 12 hours before your arrival.
Smoking/Tobacco
No smoking/tobacco after midnight the night before your surgery.
Makeup, Nail Polish, Jewelry (including body jewelry)
Please remove all these items before surgery.
Clothing
Wear loose, casual, comfortable clothing to fit over dressings.
Valuables
Please leave valuables at home.
Please contact SEE before coming for your procedure if you have had any of the following:
- Recent Covid exposure/cold symptoms
- Any health changes in the last 30 days (ER/urgent care visit, hospitalizations, new meds, ect.)
- Any health changes since your pre-admission physical.
- You are taking blood thinners. You may need to have a blood test 2-3 days prior to your surgical date. Do not stop your blood thinner medication unless your surgeon has advised you too.
Transportation Day of Surgery:
- All Patients need a driver/responsible person to transport them to and from Surgical appointment.
- No cab, Uber/Lyft or van unless you have someone to accompany you to and from procedure.
- Plan on being at Surgical Eye Experts for approximately 3 hours.
What You Need on The Day Of The Surgery:
- Information To Bring Insurance cards, photo ID, Medicare or Medical Assistance information, numbers, and addresses.
- Escort: A friend, relative or dedicated caregiver MUST stay with you for 24 hours.
- Legal Guardian: A legal guardian must be in the center AT ALL TIMES for children and dependent adults.
- Care For Children: If you have young children at home for whom you normally care for, plan for someone else to care for them for at least the first 24 hours following your surgery.
- Interpreter: If the patient cannot read, speak English or use sign language, an interpreter is required. If you need assistance arranging for an interpreter, please contact the Scheduling department 508-453-8802 as soon as possible.
